ŚMIAŁOŚĆ CIAŁA
Wystawa ,,Śmiałość Ciała” to droga. Proces zarówno artystyczny jak i osobisty. Tworzeniu prac towarzyszyło kształtowanie się moich poglądów na tematy szeroko rozumianej równości, akceptacji i seksualności oraz poznawanie własnej cielesności. Liczę, że przejście ze mną tej drogi w was również obudzi problemy i doświadczenia które towarzyszyły mi na przestrzeni tego procesu: dążenie do równości, budowanie samoświadomości, czerpanie przyjemności oraz walkę o akceptację i prawo do decydowania o własnym ciele. Część z tych tematów, nawet jeżeli nie są już uznawane obecnie za tabu, wciąż budzi skrajne emocje: wstyd, nieśmiałość, niezgodę, oburzenie czy niezrozumienie. W moich pracach staram się w pewien sposób odwrócić te negatywne skojarzenia i przekuć je w coś odwrotnego. Dodatkowo wiele z poruszanych przeze mnie tematów to problem niezwykle aktualne: równouprawnienie, edukacja seksualna czy zaostrzone prawo aborcyjne. Poprzez moją wystawę chciałam pokazać własne stanowisko w tych kwestiach, oraz zaprosić was i siebie samą, do walki, o własne przekonania.
Jeśli chodzi o proces artystyczny I zastosowane techniki, to zdecydowałam się na skorzystanie z form dobrze mi znanych, mając na względzie jasność przekazu, którą chciałam uzyskać. W wystawie dominuje fotografia, kolaż, a także film, pojawia się również ceramika - techniki które doskonaliłam przez ostatnie dwa lata. Nie chciałam eksperymentować, wiedząc że przekaz jest dla mnie ważniejszy od formy. Jednak forma również gra istotną rolę w wielu pracach, przede wszystkim nadaje im bezpośredniości, tym samym podbijając ich wydźwięk. Zamiast malarstwa czy rysunków ciał, zdecydowałam się na prawdziwe zdjęcia, w pracy ,,Lustro autorefleksyjne’’ postanowiłam użyć prawdziwego lustra, a w serii "XXII X MMXX" użyć czerwonej farby imitującej krew. W mojej wystawie nie ma więc półśrodków czy niedopowiedzeń, wiadomość jest jasna i to od widza zależy co z nią zrobi dalej. Moje prace są wynikiem osobistych doświadczeń: dorastania i dojrzewania, budowania siostrzeńskich relacji, wielu światopoglądowych rozmów oraz w końcu bardzo przełomowego dla mnie momentu - Strajku Kobiet. Podzielenie się tym wszystkim wymagało ode mnie wiele odwagi i wierzę, że ta szczerość i bezpośredniość, przełoży się również na odbiór widzów i wyzwoli w was prawdziwe emocje.
Prace zostały rozmieszczone w taki sposób, aby każdy mógł znaleźć dla siebie intymną przestrzeń, w której znajdzie czas na utożsamienie się i zastanowienie. Jako że cielesności doświadczamy za pomocą zmysłów, one również są bardzo ważnym elementem wystawy. Można nie tylko zobaczyć zarówno ruchome jak i stałe obrazy, ale także usłyszeć je, a nawet dotknąć i pozostawić po sobie ślad. Moimi pracami chciałabym nie tylko zachęcić was do rozważań ale również do działania, dlatego też zależało mi na uczynieniu wystawy interaktywną. Można więc stać się częścią dwóch prac, w pierwszej w bardziej metaforycznym, w drugiej - bardziej namacalnym wymiarze. ,,Autorefleksyjne lustro” dla każdego będzie miało inny przekaz, każdego dotkną mniej lub bardziej inne słowa, jednak dla każdego będzie również wyglądało zupełnie inaczej, gdyż będzie zawierało jego odbicie. Praca ‘’XXII X MMXX” będzie wymagała większego zaangażowania, gdyż każdy chcący wyrazić swój ból, złość czy niezgodę, będzie mógł zostawić po sobie ślad, w formie np. odbitej dłoni. Wystawa jest przestrzenią dla każdego, otwartą i otwierającą na dyskusje oraz refleksje, a także, mam nadzieję, dodającą odwagi każdemu kto jej potrzebuje.
BOLDNESS OF THE BODY
The exhibition "Boldness of the Body '' is a way. Both artistic and personal process. The creation of the artworks was accompanied by the formation of my views on the issues of broadly understood equality, acceptance and sexuality, as well as getting to know my own corporeality. I hope that walking this path with me will also awaken in you the problems and experiences that accompanied me throughout this process: striving for equality, building self-awareness, getting pleasure and the fight for acceptance and the right to decide about your own body. Some of these topics, even if they are no longer considered taboo, still evoke extreme emotions: shame, shyness, disagreement, indignation or misunderstanding. In my works, I try to somehow reverse these negative associations and transform them into something opposite. In addition, many of the topics I discuss are extremely curent issues: equality, sexual education or abortion law. Through my exhibition, I wanted to show my own position on these issues, as well as invite you and myself to fight for our own beliefs.
My artistic development was greatly inspired by the painting ,,Les Demoiselles d'Avignon” by Pablo Picasso, which opened my eyes to how, by using certain forms, you can take away the vulgarity and shamelessness from nudity in art. W ten sposób obraz ten wpłynął na większość moich prac, ale był też bezpośrednią inspiracją do stworzenia kolażu: ,,Les Demoiselles de Playboy”. As for the techniques used, I decided to choose forms that are well known to me, taking into account the clarity of the message that I wanted to achieve. After two years of experimenting with different forms I have decided to choose the techniques that I feel most confident in, as I know that the message is more important to me than the form. The exhibition is therefore dominated by photography, collage, film, and also ceramics. However, the form also plays an important role in many artworks, above all it gives them directness, thus enhancing their overtone. Instead of painting or drawing bodies, I decided to use real photos, in the work "Self-reflection mirror" I decided to use a real mirror, and in the series "XXII X MMXX" to use red paint imitating blood. There are no half measures or understatements in my exhibition, the message is clear and it is up to the viewer what to do with it. My works are the result of personal experiences: growing up and maturing, building sisterhood, many worldview conversations and finally a very breakthrough moment for me - the Women's Strike. It took a lot of courage for me to share all of this and I believe that this honesty and directness will also reflect on the reception of the audience and will release real emotions in you.
The works have been arranged in such a way that everyone can find an intimate space for themselves, where they will find time to identify and reflect. As we experience corporeality through our senses, they are also a very important element of the exhibition. You can not only see both moving and still images, but also hear them, and even touch them and leave a mark. With my works, I would like to encourage the audience not only to reflect, but also to act, which is why I wanted to make the exhibition interactive. You can become part of two works, in the first in a more metaphorical dimension, in the second - in a more tangible dimension. The "Self-reflection mirror" will have a different message for everyone, each will be affected more or less by different words, but it will also look completely different for everyone, as it will contain their reflection. The work of 'XXII X MMXX' will require greater commitment, because anyone who wants to express their pain, anger or disagreement will be able to leave a trace, for example in the form of a reflected hand. Girls just wanna have…

This work shows something, on the one hand completely unimaginable, on the other completely obvious and normal - women sunbathing topless on the beach. Fragmented female bodies and colorful letters from newspapers take away the vulgarity of work, making it similar to childish cut-outs. Both the form and the message are direct, and encourages public debate on all aspects of gender equality.

Seria zdjęć ukazująca proces plamienia prześcieradła, ma przesłanie zarówno dosłowne jak i metaforyczne. Z jednej strony pokazuje jak z czynności tak prozaicznej można uczynić formę tańca i sztuki. Z drugiej zaś przedstawia bardzo osobiste, intymne miejsce jakim jest łóżko oraz wszystko to co w nim zachodzi - poznawanie własnego ciała, seksualności oraz przyjemności.
The series of photos showing the process of staining a sheet has both a literal and a metaphorical message. On the one hand, it shows how such a prosaic activity can be turned into a form of dance and art. On the other hand, it presents a very personal, intimate place - the bed and everything that goes on in it - getting to know your own body, sexuality and pleasure.

To praca abstrakcyjna w której ważny jest nie efekt, a proces. Plamy na prześcieradle, kojarzące się zwykle z czymś wstydliwym, tutaj nabierają dumy i stają się produktem artystycznego uniesienia. Mogą być śladem zbliżenia kochanków, samomiłośći, sennych marzeń ale także koszmaru czy aktu przemocy. Pole do interpretacji jest bardzo szerokie.
It is an abstract work in which it is not the effect that is important, but the process. Stains on the sheets, usually associated with something embarrassing, here take pride and become a product of artistic elation. They can be traces of lovers' rapprochement, self-love, dream fantasies, but also a nightmare or an act of violence. There are many possible interpretations.

The sculptures show women with disturbed body proportions. The titles of the works are not without significance in this case, as they are supposed to reverse a certain negative stereotype associated with the word ,,chubby’’. The works are inspired by the idea of body-positivity, but also have a more personal meaning. The two sculptures are actually two sisters who discovered how much they have in common, after many years of being apart.

Dwie prace z serii ,,XXII X MMXX’’ są moją reakcją na wyrok trybunału konstytucyjnego ws. aborcji w Polsce. Tytuł to tak naprawdę data ogłoszenia tego wyroku. Prace są formą poradzenia sobie z paletą targających mną w tej sytuacji emocji, od smutku, bezsilności, złości, po przytłoczenie i poczucie winy. Farba wylana nagle na moją twarz uderza równie niespodziewanie i miażdżąco jak informacja o wyroku, a czerwona plama ukazuje niezmywalny ślad, jaki zostawiła ta sytuacja w polskim społeczeństwie.
Two works from the series "XXII X MMXX" are my reaction to the judgment of the constitutional court on abortion in Poland. The title is actually the date of delivery of that judgment. The works are a form of dealing with the palette of emotions tormenting me in this situation, from sadness, helplessness, anger, to feeling overwhelmed and guilty. The paint suddenly poured on my face strikes as unexpectedly and crushingly as the information about the sentence, and the red stain shows the indelible mark that this situation has left in Polish society.

Kolaż ten zainspirowany jest dziełem Pabla Picasso - Panny z Awinionu, do którego nawiązuje również tytuł. Głównym motywem jest moja fascynacja geometryzacją kobiecego ciała. Zabieg ten umożliwił mi zamienienie czegoś wulgarnego i erotycznego, czyli tytułowych pań z Playboya, w coś, pomimo ostrych kształtów, delikatnego, jednak nadal na swój sposób zmysłowego. Praca jest również wyrazem mojego sprzeciwu przeciwko seksualizacji kobiecego ciała.
This college is inspired by the work of Pablo Picasso - Les Demoiselles d'Avignon, to which my title also refers. The main theme is my fascination with the geometrization of the female body. This technique allowed me to turn something vulgar and erotic, i.e. the title ladies from Playboy, into something, despite its sharp shapes, delicate, but still sensual in its own way. The work also expresses my opposition to the sexualization of the female body.

Praca ta ma bardzo osobisty wymiar, i można powiedzieć jest zwieńczeniem wieloletniego procesu poznawania i akceptowania własnego ciała. Jej treść jest bardzo dosłowna, jednak ubrana w subtelną formę. Pomysł wziął się z dyskusji z innymi kobietami na temat tego jak niewiele z nas zna dobrze swoje narządy płciowe, i jak wstydliwy jest to temat, nawet będąc samemu ze sobą. Moja praca jest przełamaniem tego wstydu w sobie samej, a także zachęca do tego wszystkich pozostałych.
This work has a very personal dimension, and it can be said is the culmination of a long-term process of getting to know and accepting my own body. Its content is very literal, but in a subtle form. The idea came from discussions with other women about how few of us know our genitals well, and how embarrassing this subject is, even being alone with ourselves. My work breaks that shame in me, and it also encourages everyone else to do so.

Inspiracją do tej pracy była seria negatywnych komentarzy w internecie. Dotknięta nimi, zaczęłam zbierać tego typu komentarze z którymi spotkałam się ja sama, moje koleżanki, czy przypadkowe osoby. Lustro ma za zadanie pokazać każdej osobie się w nim przeglądającej, że nie jest sama, że to dotyka wszystkich. Dodatkowo, lustro ma to do siebie że odbija, a to konkretne lustro odbija wszystkie negatywne komentarze w stronę ich autorów, zadaje im pytanie: Jak ty byś się poczuł/a w takiej sytuacji?
This work was inspired by a series of negative comments on the Internet. Affected by them, I started collecting comments of this type that I met myself, or heard from my friends or random people. The mirror is designed to show every person viewing it that they are not alone, that hate affects everyone. Additionally, the mirror reflects, and this particular mirror reflects all negative comments towards their authors, asking them the question: How would you feel in such a situation?
